Sea-Side and Ancient Ostia... To Rome with Love

‘To Rome with Love’ is the latest movie by Woody Allen. It was filmed in part in the seaside town of Ostia (Rome), at one of the many beautiful Lido sites.

A Lido is a typical Italian beach where people can rent lounge chairs, umbrellas, small changing rooms, enjoy a meal or sit a the bar... These sites in Italian are called stabilimenti, and many of them were built in the town of Ostia at the beginning of the 20TH century, in beautiful art-deco architecture and interior design!

TOUR SUGGESTION:
During the Summer (from the beginning of June to the end of September) we suggest spending a relaxing morning at the beach, enjoying the sun and a fine fish based meal, then travel to the ancient town of OSTIA ANTICA for a 2-hour tour of the site (once upon a time the Port of Ancient Rome, today a famous archaeological site and a beautiful park!), and finally return to Rome.
